MY NAME IS MILAN

I am a painter whose creative roots trace back to Europe the Czech Republic, where my early years were shaped by art and music. At seventeen, I debuted my first solo exhibition in Ostrava—an experience that confirmed what I already felt deeply: art would be my lifelong path. This early momentum led me into formal art studies and set the foundation for the work I create today.

My journey took a new direction in my early twenties when I moved to New York City, and later to San Diego. Each place offered its own energy, challenges, and artistic pulse. In California, I became fully immersed in the local art scene—exhibiting in multiple galleries, building connections, and eventually opening my own gallery, where I taught art courses and shared the joy of creative exploration with others. Over time, my paintings have found homes across the world, a gift I remain grateful for every day.

Coming from a landlocked country, arriving in California felt like inhaling color for the first time. The endless blue skies and vibrant light stood in bright contrast to the muted European winters of my youth. Perhaps that is why bold color has become such an essential part of my visual language. I am always experimenting, pushing, learning—keeping my work alive, curious, and evolving. There is no greater reward than hearing from someone who feels a personal connection to a piece; those moments remind me why I paint.
